Air traffic noise

Air traffic noise is particularly perceived by the public as a pressing pollution problem in the area surrounding airports.  This includes the frequently formulated demands for bans on night flights. Noise-optimised take-off and approach routes and noise-dependent landing charges are among the most frequently used noise reduction measures at airports.
